Formuler MOL3 Error 1002 Fix

Formuler hardware—specifically the Z11 Pro Max and the new Z Mini—is considered the pinnacle of premium Streaming streaming. Their proprietary application, MyTVOnline 3 (MOL3), offers unparalleled integration. However, users frequently encounter a highly specific handshake issue: Connection Failed (Error 1002).

This error completely blocks access to live TV and VOD. In this guide, we will troubleshoot the MOL3 API and get your Formuler box back online.

Understanding MOL3 Error 1002

Error 1002 is not a standard internet connectivity issue. It is a Portal API Handshake Failure. It means that the Formuler box can reach the internet, but when it attempts to authenticate its MAC Address or Stalker Portal credentials with the server, the server responds with malformed data or rejects the syntax.

Common Causes:

  • Incorrect Portal Syntax: Trailing slashes (/) or wrong port numbers in the portal URL.
  • Corrupted Local Cache: MOL3 stores portal tokens locally. If the server updates its API, the local token becomes invalid.
  • Firmware Desync: The Formuler device is running an outdated firmware patch that lacks the latest TLS security certificates.

Step 1: Correcting the Portal Syntax

MyTVOnline 3 is incredibly strict about URL formatting compared to older apps like Smarters.

  1. Open MyTVOnline 3 and go to Content Manager.
  2. Select Content Sources and click on your portal to edit it.
  3. Check the Portal URL.
    • Incorrect: http://example.com:8080/c/
    • Correct: http://example.com:8080/c (Remove the final slash).
  4. If you are using an Server API login instead of a MAC portal, ensure you are NOT adding /c at the end of the URL at all.

Step 2: Clearing the MOL3 Application Cache

If the syntax is correct, the local token cache is likely corrupted.

  1. Press the Home button on your Formuler remote to go to the main Android dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings (Gear Icon) > Apps.
  3. Select MyTVOnline 3.
  4. Click Force Stop.
  5. Click Clear Cache (Do NOT click Clear Data, or you will delete your portal setups).
  6. Reboot the Formuler box completely by unplugging the power cable for 10 seconds.

Step 3: Updating Formuler Firmware

Formuler frequently pushes OTA (Over-The-Air) updates to fix MOL3 bugs.

  1. Go to the Formuler Home Screen.
  2. Open the Software Update app.
  3. Install any pending updates for both the System and the MyTVOnline 3 app.
Warning

Do not turn off your Formuler device while a firmware update is installing, as this can permanently brick the hardware.
